OpTic Gaming signs Heroic duo to form full Danish roster

OpTic Gaming held a joint announcement with Heroic Gaming as the former confirms a full Danish roster with the additions of Heroic duo Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer and Jakob “JUGi” Hansen as well as a new coach.

The pair would be will replace North American duo Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan and Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz, who have been given their marching orders just two months after the team’s creation.

Team coach Chet “ImAPet” Singh is also stepping down from the squad, ending a long association with OpTic that began in July 2017, when the North American organisation still housed current Cloud9 duo Tarik “tarik” Celik and Will “RUSH” Wierzba. Casper “ruggah” Due would take his place and completes the fully-Danish lineup.

The three would depart OpTic without having played a single offline tournament; having only took part in qualifiers for DreamHack Masters Marseille and IEM Sydney — placing second and third-fourth, respectively, failing to qualify in both cases.

Still, they are currently sitting in third place of ESL Pro League with 35 points from 18 matches despite having just three wins from 14 matches.

“I’ve had two great years in Heroic, but I’ve decided to take a chance to develop in a new environment with new goals. I only have positive words for what I’ve experienced with Heroic, the guys around the team and for my teammates. They are a bunch of extremely talented guys and I wish them all the best!” Snappi said in a statement.

“I am now swapping one green shirt with another, though, and I hope to be able to help OpTic meeting the organizations ambitions. It’s a big challenge for everybody, but I will do everything I can to make it happen.”
