Rumours have surfaced that Fnatic star Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer is on the verge of completing a move to FaZe Clan.
According to the same reports, Olofmeister, 25, will enter FaZe in place of Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey having joined the team in April of 2016 to replace Mikail “Maikelele” Bill — meaning that he would have featured on the active roster of the European team for less than 18 months.
Additionally, if the move completes, it will bring to an end a three-year association between fnatic and their star player.
Olofmeister had led the Swedish team to win several international tournaments, including two Majors in 2015, which saw him named the best player in the world for that year.
This will be the second roster change undergone by FaZe in the off-season, after the esports organization signed Na’Vi’s AWPer Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovacs at the start of the month to replace Aleksi “allu” Jalli. Whether Allu and kioShiMa would look for a permanent exit from the team remains to be soon.
With these changes, FaZe will have the following roster:
- Havard “rain” Nygaard
- Finn “karrigan” Andersen
- Nikola “NiKo” Kovac
- Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovacs
- Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer
FaZe Clan are currently on a new journey to rectify a recent abysmal performance which saw them eliminated early at the PGL Major group stage after going 0-3 in late July, despite having reached four grand finals in both Major and Premier events over the course of 2017. As such, their huge signings in this roster shuffle session is a clear indication of intent to quickly return to the pinnacle of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive rankings.
